Womens Club Holds 2011 Banquet

On May 23, 2011, the Womens Club met at Catfish Junction to congratulate the members for their efforts since last October to raise money for its scholarship fund. The Founders Day Cake Walk and the Spring Yard Sale brought in over $1,000 to continue giving scholarships to deserving young people. Kayla Skipper was this years award winner.

The Motto:
"To serve humanity through a knowledge and appreciation of the humanities."

Aim of the Club:
In the era of post WWII, the young wives and mothers of Chickasaw saw the need for being of service to their small community and began this great organization, now over 52 years old. The aim of the Club then, and the history of the Club, was one of committment to progress as shown in its efforts to promote family values, a safer environment , quality education, representative government and sound legislation, international understanding, appreciation of the arts and a safer, better, more beautiful community in which to live.

The members of The Womens Club of Chickasaw are busy even today in projects and programs in the Departments of Art, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Affairs and Public Affairs. Members keep abreast of needs in these areas and put their efforts together to meet these needs.

The Club's aim today is to continue the commitment to progress made in 1946 on into the 21st Century.
